Not to bump this thread, but I got a bug. After the tourist uses up all your camera film, you need to put in new film and then make him take another picture. After I reload my camera, it won't let me give the camera to the tourist, and talking to him just says "I can see you are no expert...".

May I make a note: Big Red Adventure has always been a bitch to get running. Even in real DOS mode, you often have problems with the mouse cursor being invisible and other graphical issues. Since the latest DOSBOX version, this has been fixed.

Note however that this is the RIPPED version of Big Red Adventure. I'd love to get my hands on the full thing, but it's damn near impossible to find.

I got the original was a birthday present ages ago
loved playing it but only did it once.. cus its such a hard game to run it
im gonna try and get the game running again with the cd.
sucked at it when i was young but now i understand what they say.
i liked nippon a lot too.

The Big Red Adventure on HOTU is corrupted like a lot of the files on that site. Download the one on here and it'll run. The Underdogs is a good site but some of the files they upload on there aren't complete. Their tech support forum also sucks cause a lot of people on there don't have a clue what they're talking about.

How to run this game in DosBox 0.65 using Dfend V2B2?

I have run setup (SB, ADLIB, Recognize VGA card, English) and done.

Then I run TBRA.bat which opens a window with dos commands and thats it, no game.

I have tried ADV.EXE and got the game running, but with NO mouse and NOT in English.

Please help me on this one, and thanks a Million.

Same thing here. My game is in gibberish although I chose English in the setup screen.

Are you sure its not in english? the font in the game has been made to look semi russian and can be a little hard to read at times.

I have to use 2 walkthroughs because each walkthrough I got is not complete. But with both of them I can complete the game. the graphics almost look like flash. Maybe somebody could do a flash remake of this game.

I found a glitch in the game. At a certain point(beginning of part 4) if you save there and try to play it later it shows some sort of graphics error. Like it has an overflow. Anyone else ever had this problem?

Thanks everyone for your previous posts re how to install this game and run under DOSBox. After struggling a bit, I got it to run on my PC, as follows:-
1) install (unzip) under c:\bigredad
2) run setup (soundblaster comp, ADLIB, standard Vesa, English) and done. {EDIT:- I have just read on the review that selecting Soundblaster or Soundblaster Comp causes the game to freeze later, so one must use a different setting here - sorry!}.
3) run DOSBox (0.72 in my case):-
mount c: c:\bigredad
c:
tbra.bat
4) after a few Dos entries flash past, the "Dynabyte" screen comes up, then the Big Red Adventure main screen comes up.
5) Do NOT click on intro (it just causes an error message and you have to exit and restart DOSBox)
6) Left click on "play" to start the game.
Watch the introduction (click through it).
When the first "game-play" screen appears, you can use cursor to find hotspots/items etc.
ESC key calls up the menu (save, quit etc).
And yes, the fonts do look funny, as a previous post said, they are meant to give a Russian ambiance.

Hi. I download the game, and do exactly what the user above explained. The game don't run in English. Only in Italian ( I think... ) Please someone to help, I try to run the game from more than 5 hours and I got stuck with the language. video, mouse, music and sound are ok , but the language is impossible to change, I try and four different languages from the menu, and all the same is Italian I download the game from 4-5 other abandon-ware sites and it was all the same. Please some help. thanks in advance.
