Today for some reason I did research on two series I used to watch as kid, Blake's 7 and battleship galactica (now it's called BattleStar Galactica'), and I just found out that they are making a new series and premiere is this Friday, January 14th.

How nice of them.

Does anyone here remember them?

I know of Gallactica. My favorite old series which still air(which is why I know of them) are Get Smart and the A-team.

I was too young to watch sci-fiction series back then, but I remember loving the movie "Tron". Still one of the best movie I ever seen.

Actually, Battleship Galactica weren't series, there were some movies of it.
That said, nothing beats Star Trek of the late 60th.

They were both: series and movies. And I liked best the part where they came to earth. They had cool flying moterbikes and an invisibility device for their ship. They parked it in a public park and then some softball-players were mighty puzzled when their balls bouced of of thin air!

The Movie (IMDB)
The series

Edit:
I'm curious as to the quality of the new series... StarBuck will always be Face (from the A-Team) for me
He also plays this role in the new series :w00t:

Also cool was Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. Bidi-bidi

I saw the new series of Battlestar Galactica, (most of it). It wasn't as good as the original one, and I'm pretty sure Starbuck used to be a man, but its entertaining enough, and there is a lot more loving in it, than I remember. I missed a few episodes so I gave up watching as I don't like missing out on anything so maybe I'll give it another go on Friday.

My local station shows the original series of Battlestar, A-team, and others at the weekends. Hungover, snuggled up on the couch, with coffee, a fire and junk food... Perfect Saturday afternoon.

Huh? The original was also called Battlestar Galactica. Not Battleship Galactica.

The new one looks promising, the miniseries wasn't bad, though, why the hell do they have to be PC and start turning guys into chicks?!?

Actually at the time they called it in my country only 'Galaktika', so you probably are right about this.

There is also PS2 game, so next time I visit EBStore, I'll look for it.

Classic series was great and amazing at the time. There was nothing that came close to it, except probably Star Wars movies.

And first three episodes of season 1 are made in to a movie, if I'm right.

Yeah, its either the first two or three. I know when I saw it, it was a special extended version, about 2 hours long with ads. So maybe two episodes.
