actually the user guides is not the prob as such...
found plenty of those its just the rigmarol of getting nt to habitat on it. did not have a problem with suse linux , (except for tryin to track down a graphics card for it, dint have ebay at the time..)
unfortunatly tho the other guy im working with on this is linuxaphobic.
but may have finally managed to jimmy nt on there thru a 98 boot disk.. may have.. will know after however long it takes it to get through the current stage of floppy chewing..

(edit: if you are just sooo smart chickenman how about helping me out instead of procaliming your excellence..)

anyone know where i can get versions of fdisk and format that will handle 50 gigs of scsi drive, the floppy version of partition magic i got will only make an 8 gig drive and doesnt even see the rest of it.. (and nt doesnt reconize the partition when i try and set it up..)
which is really annoying becuse all the hp diag utilities i have used assure me that the drives are happy and well..
i have fed this thing so many floppys and i dont feel it getting any nearer to having NT on it.
maybe i have to set up the drives using the One Hp Lh Pro Floppy I Havnt Yet Downloaded....
also i cant find the version of hp server explorer that runs on it anywhere for free. plenty of sources in canadian and american e bay..
i feel like im maybe going to need HP NetServer Navigator L.16.05 CD-ROM before i can condition it for NT.. stupid windows..

where did i put cd5 and 6 for S.U.S.E...

hmm try loading up a Win XP cd and use its built in partitioner to partition/format the drives... fdisk only knows the FAT file system.

well good old xp install formatted the disks no problem. however nt install still says

"setup did not find any hard disks installed on your computer"

so ...

which is starting to get a bit annoying. if a sodding win 98 bootdisk version of fdisk can see at least part of the disk, and the xp (6 disc!!) startup floppys where able to get the xp cd started and some formatting fun, why the hell can the nt (pro server ed..) not see the bloody disks???

quite frankly anyone who says linux is harder to install that windows has obviosly never tried to install windows and linux on an old hp lh pro server. im really thinking of going back to linux on it but my buddy wants nt.....
anyone here like an uber nt server master..?
