so how does HOTU escape ESA?????

oh and I havent had a problem with any abandonware games except for albion off this site. Couldnt get it to work.. still this isnt the place for discussing that

They don't... they just doesn't care, since it's based in the Philipines. Theire copyright-laws are "a bit" different...

In all fairness it should be noted that HOTU usually removes any download link if that is requested by the copyright holder. There are many, many games on HOTU which can't be downloaded for this reason. So I don't think it's quite fair to say that they just don't care.

UD is from Thailand, not the Philippines, and for a good portion of the site's existence she lived in the US. The servers themselves are also hosted in the US.

That's misleading, unfair, and wrong. Guess what? HOTUD doesn't distribute ESA games, either (there might be exceptions so excuse me for not checking all 5000+ games). For example, see Airborne Ranger.

Well, i don't realy care about HOTUD, and haven't botherd getting much more info then what i've been told. I've visited the site perhaps 3 times in total, and every time theire server-speed has been so depressingly slow, it's not worth it. That's one of the motivational forces for me to push on with this site.

What HOTU does, is they only remove games, when they get an explicit order telling them to remove those games by names.

We prefer not to step on any toes in the first place, and rather play it safe.

That said, I still love HOTU. It's an amazing site
