Does anyone know af a irefox plugin that allows you to set the speed rate of downloading. It would be really great if someone did.

I think there are some download managers that work with Firefox. Doesn't DAP do that?

You should be able to do it with FlashGot extension and a dl manager like GetRight - my extensions don't allow te download speed to be capped internally but I'm sure you can do with a DL manager.

I don't want to download a DL manager. I'm kind of saving that as a last resort. I want something that tweaks Firefox's DL manager to cap downloads when they reach aa certain rate.

I don't know much about this but, between your hard disk drive and the dl source, there are several bottle necks which can reduce dl speed. There's not much to do about that, I believe.

Try FasterFox. It;s an extension that does some weird caching... The bonus is that you also get a counter that shows you how long the loading is taking:

I think some people are misunderstanding the question - he wants to LIMIT the DL speed, not increase it.
