hmm jumble static you say? I will test the sound to see if it got corrupted. Also two things can make a difference on the sound:

1. Your Soundcard (Some cannot play a high frequency).
2. Your Speakers (See above).

It should just be one long tone like the sound when the tv is on (like danny said).

Tried with the equalizer off - could hear it somewhat. Age is still 18

but i think that everybody, even older people, would hear that if they had headphones

I'm 15 and I heard it. My TV makes the same noise. Until I go through the usual process of kicking the thing off its shelf, that is.
