Hello, I hope you don't mind me crashing into this forum, but I am rather desperate.
I used DosBox to install the game and everything runs smoothly. The introduction played fine until the doorman starts to speak. The game then crashes with the message: "Error: There was an error trying to open the file "SPEECH60.LIB" I selected "Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 or AWE32" as my audio driver but I also tried other drivers and they did not work either If I turn off the digital audio, there are no problems. I searched the Abandonia's troubleshooting archive and there was another person who had this problem, but it was not followed up. Please help me troubleshoot this, because I really want to hear the speech. Thank you BlueCat |

Sounds like a corrupted copy to me. Did you try redownloading the game?

Then the corruption applies to the original archive on the server.
Try downloading from somwhere else and see if that copy works correctly.. |
