Thumbs up

Wandering around, at one store (in real life) I found out a game called *drums*... "Neverwinter nights" (as I recall) and on the box said "from the creators of Baldur's gate"...
Wow, I adore Baldur's Gate, lets buy this game (for 100 Kn, about 15$)... wait I think I'll consult my friends on Abandonia first!
And this is when you come to take the place... is it worth it?!

Hopefully you understood my poetic writing. LOL

I hate this game and I think it's a disgrace to BG's name...
I don't like the story, it's stupid and you become a hero all of a sudden, it's just to be there, I don't like it because it's too much hack n' slash and all in all it's bad...
The good thing is the campaign editor...
If you like BG, this game is nothing like it, it doesn't have that feeling, but if you're up for a bit of H n' S pounding you might like it, not worth the 100kn IMO...

It is. k: To me Neverwinter Nights is some "better" Baldur's Gate. No more to say.

EDIT: Opinions differ, you see... But for 15€ I really would not leave it in shop.

Hmmm...I enjoyed Nwn but if you really liked BG and think it will be like it you will be disapointed....
It is quite linear ,it is even quite similiar to diablo in some moments but on other side nice graphics, and quite good story.
I heard some complains about feat system, but I liked it.
As you can see there is and will be VERY different opinions about it.
But I think it is definetly worth it k:
THis should be a poll LOL

I quite like it, it's got better combat than BG but it is not completely centred around it like Diablo. Plus the editor is goosd and the internet is swarming with fan-made stuff, some of it quite good.

This game wasn't released for the single player game, it was actually just for the editor. If you don't like the premaid scenario you can always go and download more, it's easy, and of course, you can make your own. There are two expansion packs that you can get later on, that both have much better singleplayer games.

You should buy it in my opinion k: .

Thanks for your opinions... I think I'll go for it...
...now to get money. Ok, so it isn't really to much.

But, what about multiplayer?

Hope to se more opinions.

Multiplayer is fantastic, it's probably the best part of the game.

They wouldn't release a great editor without great multiplater :w00t: .

A bit of a warning however. Neverwinter Nights won't work on SOME Windows systems, telling you to, after the install, to download a spesific service pack. These service packs are not to be trusted. I have Windows 2000 Pro, and after downloading the service pack, my computer could no longer recognise it's own hard-drive. Thankfully I could go in via safe mode and delete that service pack via "Add/Remove Programs" It's a great game, I played it at a friend's house. However IF it asks you to install a service pack, do so at your own RISK. Some people, it works fine on. Some people (For I know it's happened to more than me.) it screws up your computer.

I didn't really like NWN that much, it was boring.
I suggest you get the expansion packs, they supposedly have a better singleplayer game.
