Speedlink competition pro joystick
Hi guys,
I was wondering about buying a competition pro USB, because my old joystick is rather worn out. So to my surprise I found out, that the competition pro now also exists for PC: http://geizhals.at/a350377.html I'm looking for somebody who owns one, to explain me his personal experience with it. The digital axis is what I don't understand ... does that mean its just the same as the 4 cursor keys (with a clicking sound like on C64) or, do the axis behave like every other PC joystick with range from 1-1024 ? Thanks for the explanation! |

Digital joysticks only allow for 0/1 directional control - so yes, that's pretty much the same thing as with cursor keys.

You could get a pencil and some blu-tack...
If you stuck the blu-tack over the cursor keys and whacked the pencil in the middle - hey presto! Instant joystick. [ed] I just tried it out, and you need something to strut the axis with. I used matches, but I'm sure anything like that would do... You also need an elastic band, wrapped round a lot of times, in order for the struts to be solid enough to press the keys when pressure is applied to the pencil. Paperclips would probably be best, actually. |

Hehe, my cousin is a console-freak, when he comes over to play on my PC he plays better with cursor keys than with joystick!
I need an analogue stick in the shape of a competition pro. Something that you can hold in your hands. Any suggestions? |
