Do someone remeber Return to Castle Wolfenstein?? This was scary! Damn, catacombs were full of those bastards zombies and in the last levels of those experimental monsters!

STALKER can be scary if you don't have ammo and you have to escape from labs X16 or X18.

I've found a good game recently, Penumbra. Not quite an FPS, as it's more of a puzzle solving game (plus there's the fact you get no weapons). But I still think it's worth a mention.

Pathologic. A survival horror FPS with RPG like elements where your enemy is an actual infectious contagion to which you are not immune.

Only bad thing is that the translation to english is rather sloppy.

W00t!

Where can I find Realms of the Haunting? I loved that game. It was beyond impressive. I only played the demo, though, unfortunately.

Realms of the Haunting is a British adventure game released in 1997 by Gremlin [...] (Wikipedia)
Unfortunatly it's not abandonware so you can't find it on Abandonia.

I've heard something about a unofficial sequel or remake called Bioshock.
