I have a CD bundle of Desert Strike and Jungle Strike somewhere that ran on 98SE without complaint; haven't tested the disc on later editions of Windows yet, but if they run without DOSBox I'll be happy to provide an ISO.

Unfortunately, the version of Jungle Strike that I have is the one with the FMV footage, which means having to install a much larger file for the privilege of watching a bunch of Crimewatch reconstruction audition rejects alternate between wooden and hammy in what looks like it might be the developer's office.

For Desert and Jungle you need a quite high PC and lots of cycles -20,000 or more. I recommend a front end like D.O.G. which makes playing around with cycles and setting EMS, etc, a lot easier then mucking around with .conf files!

I have Desert and Jungle on a Gremlin compilation CD, to get them to run install/copy to C:\Desert and C:\Jungle and then use DOSBox/D.O.G. to run them. The game will freeze. Ctrl-Alt-Del and then run the Desert.exe or Jungle.exe from the CD or if using a Front End, just browse to the file and mount a CD Rom.

Password for level 2 = CMMBTMMM8

I didn't play longer, it's hard without cheating!

Also, as previously said, if you want to become invincible use this cheat: when you are on the frigate press esc, the menu screen with the various F key options appears, now just type "waterfall" and the press the space bar to get back to the helicopter on the frigate, now just play the game!

Has anyone been able to rescue the missing co-pilot? Supposedly you can get him from the first mission, near the crashed plane in the north-west corner.

I've rescued him many times, but he just doesn't show-up in the pilot selection...

I did that, but I don't remember his real position, if you want to be sure you must rescue all MIAs agents. You can use the minimap to locate them.

However I've found this on the net:

Quote:
In the northwest corner of the map you will see a plane crash and a gunfight. Kill the green guy and pick up the brown guy; it's Valdez! Make sure to blow up the downed plane to protect the sensitive avionics software onboard.
