This game is a little unsual-like the eyes and in the moving portrait at the White House, and the empty levels, also the sound is really bad, but it's an ok game-Love the movies. I got freaked out in the maze when the guard started running after me really fast-I hate that in games heheh, I'm very high strung :w00t: , anything freaks me out-heart pounding fast and everything ---I wish I wasn't such a wuss so I could play those horror games, which look great, but I might accidently kill myself <_<
Anyway, this site is great, one of the best so far-memories |

Sound Quality and Other Stuff
Quote:
I had to reply because I owned this game for the PC back in the day. Both the review and several posts describe the sound as really really bad, but I remember playing it on a 386 and it sounded fantastic (for the day :amused. The voices were clear and the music, guitar riffs and sound effects struck me as really decent and quality. I'm not even sure to tell the truth if I had a sound card at the time - there were several games out at the time that pulled off some trickery (I want to say Crime Wave was also one but I may be mistaken) and got the PC speaker to do stuff they said it couldn't. So anyway I grabbed it, loaded it up in DosBox, and what do you know? Crap. I tried every sound setting in DosBox I could think of and got the same thing. So I'm wondering if maybe it's something with the emulation? I was going to load it up in VMSound and give that a try, but I'm running Vista x64 and can't seem to get that to work. I will say that my XBox 360 joystick through DosBox works most excellent for this game! Anyway this game was a fun and not too intense way to wile away an afternoon. Regarding the comment about the ice pick, I seem to remember that too, maybe it's the difficulty setting - there are four to choose from so maybe that puzzle is only given at a certain level. I'll post more if I find anything else out. Cheers! |

Just in case anybody is trying to play this game, I've made a patch for the problem with Billy the Kid. Check out this page.

The C64 version of this game is total rubish, the DOS version is OK.

As I see many people complaining about the sound quality (even in the game's review) I feel I have to do justice to the game encouraging people to run it with "bt n" to get the correct audio.
