I don't know if I did this wrong, but mine still won't work. I mounted it and can get it running as a CD drive, but I can't play it. I installed through the mounted drive, but it says not enough memory free. This happens a lot, so I just tried playing through DOSBox, but then it says can't find the cd. I tried mounting it there, but DOSBox just closes. What do I do?

Also, all the drives I mounted in DOSBox aren't there anymore apparently. Is that a bad sign?

You need to do it everytime you start DOSBox. They are not permanent.

Ok, that's slightly reassuring and slightly annoying. Any ideas on why it's not working for X wing?

I have no knowledge whatsoever on CD mounting under DOSBox, I fear I can't help you here. The only times I encoutered an ISO of a game I was more than eager to test my CD-Writer and it always worked that way. Once burned, I only took for granted I had a new game just like if I had purchased it and I never got a definite problem because of this.

Ok, you mount the .bin-file with DaemonTools? Now see that letter assigned to the .bin-file as a drive letter? Mount it in DosBox as a CD-drive. For example, it's a letter g:
mount d g:/ -t cdrom
mount c c:/anydirectory
(create a directory there to install X-Wing to it)
d:
install.exe
(or similar to install the game, you need to install it first, right?)

There choose simply the c: as the installation directory. Then:

c:
install.exe
(if you didn't setup the sound / music after the installation, which actually should come up automatically)
xwing.exe (or whatever starts the game)

I hope this one helps you, if it doesn't, ask here again, we'll see if we can help more.
