Well... I am a sucker for a good RPG and was annoyed when i completed all the modules and the game itself after buy the Diamond Edition of Neverwinter Nights.
And then on friday I saw that a new module was out... Infinite Dungeons. Now that got me thinking about good old roleplaying D&D style... so I bought it online... downloaded it... installed it... and yes... it's bloody fantastic, BUT... what annoys me a bit is that the generating of each level is done when you get to the exit... so you are stuck waiting for a bit before getting on... and there is no real consistency of the quests.
Anybody here tried it yet? Or are you waiting for Neverwinter Nights 2 before you go for this awesome RPG?

Meh I hated the game and I think it's awful, I'm still waiting for Baldur's Gate 3 though

Neverwinter Nights had great multiplayer and the toolset was awesome, not to mention there are some great modules out there. I only dislike how they make you pay for the best with those little "TWO LATEST MODULES" boxes you find at Gamestop.

Didn't PlaneScape Torment come out before BG?
But I agree that Planescape Torment is the best... love the humor and the puzzles in this game are extreme. BG is not bad either, BUT... I got bored because your party could slow you down.
But surely am looking forward to Fallout 3... Can't wait for that... will even boost my pc up more if I have to just for that game LOL

But to get back on track... I do agree that NWN is annoying for that part of telling you that modules are out and that it will cost you this and this... but at least they are not sending out new expansions on disc and claiming it to be a huge game. Although Infinite Dungeons is going to be huge in terms of playability since the dungeon changes everytime.

Planescape Torment is also an excellent RPG, but I haven't played it in a long time and I just started BG again, so I guess the impression is more fresh...
BTW in BG you can make your own party without any NPC (although that takes some fun out of it), just pretend your hosting a multiplayer game and control all the 6 characters you made by yourself...
NWN was a bit of a dissapointment I really didn't like the 3D engine, and the story was bad, I never tried multiplayer because of my connection restrictions...

Maybe the story of the original campaign of NWN is not the best (but it´s also not a bad one), but what makes NWN so good is the editor/toolset to make your own modules. There is an near endless amount of fan made modules and many of them are very good.
And I think that the 3D engine doesn´t look bad. But most of this is a matter of taste.

I agree Hamster... what can you say? Really it all matters if you like the game or not... I know I liked the game enough to upgrade my pc
But not sure I want to upgrade more with the latest Module from Bioware tho.
