FYI the dosbox people hate the registry themself and dosbox doesn't add a thing for it.

 First and foremost, the setup you get to after starting ALONE.EXE is in FRENCH!Allthough i understand parts of it, enough to get through it, i can't start the game. When i press Jeur (New Game i suppose) the DOSBox screen goes black and there is a little line blinking in the top left corner. Last edited by arete; 16-10-2009 at 06:28 AM. Reason: smiley |

Ops, sorry for the extra post, but i didn't get the whole issue into the first one (i happened to send it before i was done..).
This stupid blinking thing goes on for a while and nothing happens, nothing at all!. And i can't just start the file (and yes i'm using XP), if i do i get an error message: 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem C:\ALONE\ALONE.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. And i then get to choose either 'Close' or 'Ignore', both exits me back to the desktop. |

Thanks! :w00t: But even if THAT worked, i can't get any sound!
I noticed that the sound was turned off in the options menu so i turned on Sound FX (Music couldn't be turned on) but then the game ran so slow it almost stopped! What can i do to fix this? I can only run the game by simply starting ALONE.EXE, neither DOSBox nor VDMSound works. |

WTF?
It's lagging.. How? I remember playing this game in 1994-ish and it didn't lag even then. Now it's lagging... Grr I want to be eaten by that mysterious blue thing that breaks in through the window, and the thing that comes out of I believe the floor board (it might've been the closet)... Why would it be lagging? |

It stopped lagging when I used Dos Box with the frame skip increased...

Hey, I play this game and it works perfect, then I reach a certain part of the game and whenever i load my games they crash. I'm running it in Windows XP without Dosbox. Please help!

Dos-game running under XP... now there's a rarity. Try running it under DosBox and see if it still occurs
