You know, when this thread started out, it was actually really awesome.

People stating their beliefs, no one arguing, no one insulting each other.

I was impressed. That feeling of amazement that people could express their beliefs without fearing attack has quickly given way to annoyance that people just won't drop the arguments/debates.

No. I'm not an Agonist. I'm not waiting for the existance of god to proven. But there is no sence in believing in something - that you don't think is there. If atheist were to believe that the god wouldn't exist - that would make atheism a belief sistem and they would not have to think about anything. They would just believe that something isn't.

That's one of the reasons I'm so loud now. People simply don't know what atheism really is. They just classified it as the person who believes there is no god. Thatis wrong.

It's a person who doesn't believe in god. That doesn't mean that a god doesn't exist - but an atheist would not follow god and would not believe in it - even if they were both sitting at a bar and sharing a drink.

So even if god personaly would come down to talk to me - I would admit he exists, but I would not believe in him. But then again - I wouldn't have to, because I'd know he is - so there would be no more belief.

Nobody isn't attacking anybody, it's just exchange og thought or constructive criticism as Sebatianos put it... There are many different people and you know I just might take into consideration what someone else has told me...
If you mind mind our debates don't read them, they make sense to us...

@Sebatianos: The agnostic thing , that's an official description of a belief, but if you feel that you're an atheists than you really are one, who am I to argue you?

Well the first system that was attacked was atheism itself...

And I know I'm not changing anybody's mind. And neither will someone change mine. But that's beside the point. We're not trying to convert anyone.
If someone states a religion that's just fine. No one was attacked for having religion (people were put on the spot for not having one).

But by sharing our views on religion and our understanding of the universe and everything we are learinig. I have learned quite a few things and I hope others have too.

That doesn't mean I'd change my point of view, but I will be wiser. I don't have to agree with someone - but that doesn't mean I don't respect what they are saying.

I would agree, except for the fact I have seen the same argument rehashed over and over with no success in persuasion, and also without seeing an end to it.

I also have seen a tone which, if not directly insulting, could be at the least described as condescending.

Express your views all you want, and learn from each other. Just keep it nice. Or drop it. For the benefit of your peers who are here because they met people that they feel a connection to.

I myself have found myself at times in the last few days wanting to just walk away, except I believe everyone here is well-intended. Perhaps just slightly too enthusiastic about "teaching" others...

After all, no one can be taught if they don't want to learn...

Of course, the tone of this thread is little higher than usual, but this is a hot discussion anyway, and as long there's no arguing, what's wrong with it? Yes, there were some moments where it got up, as the moment with Yobor and me, but hey, the smarter one just moves to the side.
I can say one thing: I learned constantly from this thread, not only at the beginning, and I hope that at least someone got interested in what I wrote about the "unproven things".

If uwant to talk religion/politics it will always get nasty specially that we come from the 4 corners of the world and we all had different upbringings and beleifs
the age difference is also a factor.But theres no problem in arguying from time to time just try to hide ur insults or disguise them in a beautiful word admins are everywhere!!!
