Where do you need to type this in? I have the archive from the site and didn't need to enter in copy protection to create characters or enter the city.

I need it too advance my characters from 3rd to 4th levels, plus it's annoying to not be able to put 'S' in my characters names.

So you can't use the letter S for names either? I just checked on my copy and I could put S in the names, I am not going to play through the game to that point to test out the copy protection though. Sounds like there might be something wrong with your archive or dosbox, maybe one of the users with more knowledge about this game or dosbox can help.

Talking Solution!!!!

I found that if you play the game outside of dosbox the 'S' works perfectly! So all you have to do is bear the annoying bloops long enough to enter the copy protection and go back to dosbox!

Does anyone have any tips on how to get this running on the Amiga?

I downloaded WinUae and the Bards Tale Roms and it boots and goes to a screen where it says "searching for bootable media"

What additional steps do I need to take to get this working?

Thanks again!

Some emulators require you to supply the system BIOS. Perhaps that - or something like it - is the case here too?

Because the Amiga is a computer. You need to supply the proper Kickstart you want to use, you need to set up WinUAE what kind of Amiga you want to emulate, you have to set up whether it's AGA or ECS for graphics, and you have to mount the disk images.

Well, I had some experiences with Amiga emulation back on WinXP, it's one nasty b___h.
The Kickstart disks (sort of DOS bootdisks for Amiga), and roms are copyrighted material.
Alternatively, you could just get the latest AmigaOS, which I suppose is freeware.

Well, I believe that I found the correct BIOS (I hope so anyway)... I was just wondering if I am using it right... since I have used DOS before so i know about cd commands and such. The amiga I have never used.. so is there a way to load the ROMs? hard boot the system etc etc
