As the title says im trying to run Civ II: TOT but cant, i dont know why though. Im useing windows XP, a good powerful PC and ive run it before on windows 98. As far as i can tell it runs on windows XP, however i had to use a patch on a Civ spin off called Call To Power to make it run as it had the same problem, however i have not found any mention of this kind of issue with TOT anywhere online, can anyone help meh? :help:

It does run under XP without any other programs and compatibility options. I know because I have also re installed it last month. I have the original CD version though. What kind of errors do you get? Try settnig the windows desktop colours to 256. If you have the CD then you might need the nocd crack for it as the copy protection might causes problems to your pc. I have the file if you need it.

Does your HD has the NTFS file system? I think this might be the issue, as I have FAT32 and have no problems at all to play Test of Time under WinXP.

I have it installed at home on NTFS partitions (all of my games on XP are installed on NTFS) and there is no problem at all.

Siolis,
Do you have original CD?

That's right, though there won't be any music without the CD.

Civilization II - Test of Time is a collection that contains:
1. The original Civilization II
2. The extended edition of Civilization II with one additional plane, Alpha Centauri which you're able to colonize after the spaceship arrives there
3. Civilization II in phantasy setting, the World of Midgard, with other units, another civiliazion progresses and 4 different planes, and finally
4. The Universe of Lalande 21185 far in the future, as the number states, with scientifical units and also with 4 different planes.

When the civ2 runs and fails, the problem is that the altered unit, cities or other graphics doesn´t fit the game. Sometimes(and this is the biggest problem is your are making specials civ 2), the game runs and load but fail in the first turn... so many updaters of civ2 work in a new version and never knows that the game will not pass the first turn. It happened to me
