In Poland, If u want to have 60GB Creative Zen Mp3 player, you have to pay around 1400 zł which means about 450$. In bigger cities (Warszawa,Kraków,Gdańsk,Wrocław) it is common to have one, but the rest of the country can only dream about it. So that's not a plague, and I don't think that this device could change social life in any community in Poland

In Sri Lanka, It is about average. Some people has Mp3 Players or iPods and if they have, then it's the middle/high class. I myself have an iPod. AND a CD Player.
But relatively lots of people have CD or Mp3 Players.

If you mean that little mp3 flash player (which can be plugged into USB port) - I have that one. Pretty useful on boring lectures in university. I have 256 MB, but that's enough. Loading whole damn playlist into player with 10 GB of memory is sort of self expression. I have only about dozen of hits every month, so, like I said, 256 Mb is more than enough.
More than that, that player comes like another USB storage device, if you need to get something and don't have your flash drive, so that doubles the usefulness.

Most people here have CD players or MP3s but they don't bring it to the school with themselves on a daily basis, I really don't see how someone yould get desocialized because of MP3 players, I only use mine, when I'm traveling somewhere alone...

Desocialized - normally, in class, you would talk with your friends etcetera, but now everyone uses those MP3-players and there go our relationships.

Hmmm if I didn´t get an MP3 player in Christmas gift, I wouldn´t have to this day.

But still, sometimes I don´t have it with me, since you need to talk with people around you, and not just living in your own very small world.

the MP3 player is a Lenco XEMIO-121

I heard of people being desocialized cause of games, internet, MMORPGs, but MP3 players? :eeeeeh:
People use mp3 players when they're bored or don't have anyone to talk too...

Well, consider yourself lucky - it's dead boring at school.

Maybe it's only outside this country, but music doesn't make people into anti-social zombies. Guess people in your countries are all crazy.
