Please, everybody. Be nice to newbies! Even the veterans once started as newbs.
For example, Sebatianos:

Hi! I guess I'm what you'd call a Newbee. :Tom: , but I just had to write a comment here. You've mentioned some great adventure games, but I polayed a few I really liked, and they weren't mentioned here. They might not be the best games ever, but I think they're really cool!

Mr. Ripley's Believe it or not: The Riddle of Master Lu (cool graphics, great story, and I'd give it at least 98%).
Blue Force (an older police game, that tries to be true to life. I'd give it 80%, but it's surtenly worth playing).
Death Gate (also excelent story, but the graphics aren't that good 85%).
And last but not least LOST EDEN (I especially liked the music, the story was good and the graphics vere out of this world!).
"A few games to add"... Yeah right.

If you feel like it, you can look up the first post of some veterans, if you're in for a good laugh.
That's right! We all once followed the way of the noob...

At one point yes, but, abandonia may not necessarily have been our first forum. I used to mod some pretty large boards.

Of course, that's true. But it's interesting to see how everyone started the same way 'waw Abandonia is great! Thanks for the games <optional:> I have some to share with you! etc.' and how they grow out to become respected members. I think I didn't make my point of this topic entirely clear.

Hah, it's just a global advice. I'm using the common prejudices concerning newbies.

One thing that I noticed is, that there are either to few forum admins/mods or the existing ones are too busy or too reserved.

That does tempt other non-admin (primarily veteran) members to comment on each and every violation of the boardrules. So literally they take "the law" into their own hands.
While browsing the forums, I have seen many comments like "Stop spamming", "Necro alert?" etc. I mean, it doesn't help anybody, if a single spam post is followed up by three or more answers stoning the orginal author or quoting the rules.

Why not delete the post without much fuss. Use the warning level feature more frequent instead.

Just my thoughts as a new Abandonia member.

The admins got bored of it. I mean, give someone the power to blackmail someone, fun. For a while. Now Titan plays with his "noobnuke" type toys.
