Local versions makes the site feel more comfortable and international. And it will appear in more search engines... and therefore easier to find for ppl from the countries with a translation.

Edit:

You could link to more languages with the flag / computer 50/50 in the logo indicating that the page is machine translated like this box:

I gaved up my translations mainly because Yavor left. And about the french... i have many problems...
