I recently (week ago) bought two games - Icewind Dale II and Morrowind. I haven't made my own opinion about these games yet, because I didn't play a lot in them now (have other things to do), so I decided to ask, what do you all think about them.

Both are great, but wildly different from each other.
Given a choice, I'd prefer Morrowind myself, but I guess many would choose differently

Personally, I much prefer Morrowind. The IWD series plays like strategy titles, just placed in an RPG setting. In Morrowind, you can go anywhere, do anything, and there are hundreds of distinctive caves, dungeons, etc--not to mention several thousand mods which do everything from add new armor to major quests.

By the way, Morrowind's successor, Oblivion, is due out in about 1-2 months. It's expected to have fairly high PC requirements.

Diablo is a hack 'n slay game.. like dungeon siege or dungeon keeper or Beyond Divinity or Sacred.. real RPG's allow user to create an character and real RPG's have a story to tell, thats what makes them Colorfull and bright.. a story where u can get involved with and participate with it..

My Favourite Pc RPG is Gothic.. i've never played a game with such a deep and fascinating Story... try it and you will understand me..

Gothic II is also nice but never comes close to his predecessor ..
Gothic is not a "Classic" diehard RPG it's a good mix between Classic RPG's like Baldurs Gate and typical Action RPG's

I'm also a big fan of Baldurs Gate and Baldurs Gate II
they are the best D&D Game adaptation imo.. they deal with real D&D issues, but that's also a big weakness of BG.. because it makes it difficult for RPG noobs to get familiar with the game..

Because I'm a big Star Wars fan, my vote goes for KOTOR! (the sequel was not so good imo) Wielding two lightsabers and wearing a Jedi Master robe gives you a feeling you can't compare to anything else. (Or maybe only a few things ) And axes, maces, staves ...etc. don't have that sound effect of a lightsaber.

Gothic was great, except for that terrible control scheme.
Fallout 2 hard? Not if you play it right, :bleh: .

Well, I should have voted Daggerfall, but since it isn't listed and I haven't played Morrowind yet, lets say BG2
