currently we've only got Ghost recon & Red Alert and they are starting to get a bit boring unfortunately he's a bit young for doom3 and doesn't like the pink guys on doom II !

soo.. any good sugestions for lan games that I can play with a 7 year old preferably abandonware or freeware, they can't be too complicated and preferably would have an option to have 1-2 easyish computer players

he has a ps2 as well but it's only set up on a 14'' portable! so not very easy to play multiplayer

mhh..let me think...I've got a brother so we have play a lot of them...
A nice game is Re-Volt (I don't know the status but it's really funny for a child)
Another one...if I'm not wrong Gta support lan games and you can easily find it on abandonia reloaded!
You can try Wolfenstein Enemy territory (freeware), but it could be too boring with only two players...

If I'll remember other titles I'm gonna tell you! k:

I did try the freeware versions of gta but they were just too slow to play and I gave up trying to get them to work

I've never seen revolt so I will have a look this weekend thanks.

last time I tried wolfenstein I had some problems with it and couldn't be bothered to fix them but might be worth trying again but as you say might get a bit booring with just two players.

Quake 1 isn't AW or FW, but it's good for two players. Better even if you also use one of the bot utilities to add computer-controlled bot players.

Unreal Tournament is always good for multi.

Yeah right!
You can try the first Unreal Tournament (It was my first lan game!), or Quake 3 Arena, they're similar.
Unfortunatly they are not abandonware, but now they are really cheaper!

You could try soldat. It's freeware. It might not be that great with only two people, but it's free, so...hmm.
