Tainted Love, because it's a 'scary/funny' cover from that 80's song!!

It's a 70s-song... the Soft Cell-version is also just a cover.

I don't care too much for most of his music (allthough I liked quite some stuff from "The Golden Age of Grotesque"), but I think the man has still great UNIVERSAL artistic capacities. Already the whole new change of style with new new album is something not everyone would be capable of pulling through in a credible way. And I gotta admit, I kinda like the pseudo-fascistic chique he used for that... :[img]http://www.abandonia.com/forum/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' />

Pfft... shocks the USA maybe, you've got to try harder in the UK. You can't just sing 'Oooh the devil' or whatever and be massively publicised.

You're right!!! Soft Cell's version was a cover already!! So it's a cover from a cover! ... Don't judge a book by its cover!! Okay, that had nothing to do with it, sorry

*yawn*

It's not about "shoking" anyone anymore, hasn't actually been for quite some years. It's about re-invinteng himself as an "art product" over and over again. Actually quite similiar to what Bowie did (or do you think he was just out to "shock" everyone as well?). The same goes for the "text example" of yours... he might have had some songs of that order MANY years ago, but most of his songs are actually social commentaries.

Nah, I could understand where Bowie was coming from. If Manson wants to re-invent himself then what he should really do is give that "gothic" crap a rest. Fine, we've seen you like that, Manson, now try and make a successful career on the back of some musical skills, rather than the tired imagery in his videos.
