Just download The Ur-Quan Masters from a few posts up.

It has ports for several operating systems and runs very well on modern machines.

Plus it contains several enhancements found in the 3do version of Star Control 2 including remixed music and voices, with the option to turn any of those enhancements off.

does anyone knwo if those "Traders" in some other systems (liek apha centauri) realyl dissapear in 2559 (or osmething) they tell you that they iwll leave in 4 years. do they really leave? if so it 's impossible to find all the rainbow worlds for them to get their technology needed for final clash.

BTW the game runs a bit too fast for me in combat so i used cyborg and it's not bad to sit back and watch it.

Great game, wish it was in 3D like Elite or Frontier.

it also has an interesting bug that give you basically unlimited money.

Gregor yeah there is a time limit on this game and if u wait around long enough then the traders (melnorme) will dissapear. But if u know where the rainbow worlds (and some other important info) are then u can finish the game in just a few months, game time that is.

Btw playing the computer in melee is half the fun turning on cyborg prolly give u a bit of a disadvantage considering how easy it is to take advantage of the computer.

This is one of the best games of all time, and the first computer game I ever bought.

Yes, the traders leave in about 2559 - because that's the year that the game ends. I won't give away the ending, but let's just say that they have good reason to get the hell out of dodge.

You have to type in the name of the star.

Just search for the location in the manual, like 13342 : 3431 or something like that :P and then type in the name of the star that shows up with those directions.

BUT do not type in the first word (ETA, ALPHA, BETA and so on) as these are not the name of the star, but the name of the system.

Happy gaming.
