That's it. I'm moving to Italy.
Pay attention! You don't know how can be staying here during the "Festival di Sanremo"... :eeeeeh:

I'm quite sure that's worse than the Eurovision Song Contest...

I haven't heard many songs yet, I missed the pre-contest.

I have to say, it was really surpricing that Iceland didn't get through. But like I said, I've heard few of the songs.
The Icelandic singer, Selma, was in second place couple of years ago, she's got experience. She's been an actor and a singer for a long time. She's really talented, but I wouldn't consider me a fan.
The Icelandic song, If I Had Your Love, is okey. First time I heard it, I didn't really like it, but now I find myself humming it while doing the dishes

Everybody had high hopes here, headlines said "SELMA WILL WIN!!!" etc. So it's kindova shock for the icelandic nation that she didn't get through...
FACE!!!! :bleh:
(I laughed a lot when I heard she didn't get through...)

Aaaanyways, enough rambling about Iceland.

The songs I've heard...
Austria. I have to admit, I liked it. The jodle was original.. Kinda funny. Liked the band playing.. clarinet, trumpet, trombone etc, if I remember correctly. Original.

I heard the Norwegian song, although I dont' remember it. But I thought it was okey.

Heard parts of the Croatian song. Didn't really like it, but I saw this instrument in the video that I'm curious about. Like bagpipes, but not exactly the same (i think). If anybody knows, lemme know!!!

That's about it...

I usually watch Eurovision, but I wouldn't consider myself a huge fan. I like going to Eurovision parties!! Last year I was the only Icelander :bleh:
I'll watch the beginning of the contest tonight. Then I've gotta go..

LOL that isn't very true, however Scandinavians tend to vote for each other...

It is a fact, balkans vote for each other

And not just scandinavians, the nordic countries.
Iceland isn't scandinavian, but we always give Norway and Denmark good scores and vice versa.

Look I live on balkans so I should now, we voted like 10 and 12 points for our neighbours, but they gave us like 3 or 4 points, so it isn't very true, this is more of the case with nordic countries, not just Scandinavian, you're right about that...

What with the drums.

I know Ireland has won the Eurovision the most times but incorporating a Riverdance routine into your act doesn't guarantee a winning formula.

How many years we got left!

Well it surprised me that there were 3-4 songs that had a taste of rock/metal in them, ofcourse still in a pop package...
There is also a huge number of songs with ethno elements whic are mostly hugh paced...
There weren't many of classical pop songs that one would expect to hear on Eurosong, but I guess taste changes...

EDIT: OMFG it's really a shame how neighbouring countries give points to each other...
I just hope that those eeky - yucky Latvians won't win, I'd rather see that chic from Israel win...

EDIT2: Well Greece won, ethno is starting to dominate...

For me, Norway had by far the best song... But that's just me, because I always prefer rock.

Well, though I am "happy" that Greece won, I can't say it was my favourite song. I would vote for the Hungarian one. Oh well.
