Anyone knows whether it's possible on Windows XP to use search in Windows Explorer (=F3) without the originating (file)server to activate the indexing service? And if yes, how.

Can't you disable indexing service?
(did not know that F3 in IE activates indexing service) |

F3 activates search (and it's Windows Explorer, not Internet Explorer, although it's basically the same program...) :P
Yes I can disable/enable indexing service, but if I do then I can't search, hence the above question |
