Lightbulb ChatBox Message Sounds

I think if your on the front forum page then you should hear message sounds in the chat box. Dont you?

The chatbox does not include any functionality for sound notifications. Adding one is not currently possible.

Also, some users are at work, and those telltale chat noises might be a giveaway. They also become really annoying really quickly. I always turn them off.

a mute button can be added ya know. not saying the sound should be a loud obnoxious one.

Nope, default, if added should be sound OFF, button should be pushed if you want the extra noise, or you should enable the "feature" in your own profile if you want to transform your browser to a noisy box, but don't ask others to have to push extra buttons for some idiotic gadgets.

I agree that if such a thing is ever coded then the default should be off.

But judging from Fifth post, this is not going to happen anyways. And knowing from where the code of the chatbox is from and how it is probably a huge mumbo jumbo of code... I can also understand why.
