@jg007: the opposite happens to me with new FPS and those games ported from consolles, many are poor of plot and they lack of original ideas. |

I just installed ' Prisoner of war ' and although it is from 2002 and the graphics on that are not as great as the new games so far at least I quite like it and am finding it at least a bit different .
the thing with that though is the reviews for it only have an average of 6.8 whereas half life was much higher and I have never hear much about prosoner of war so was not expecting much |

I recently tried to play Megatraveller, and the controls and interface completely threw me once I'd gotten past character creation (which is still one of the better ones). Doesn't help that you're getting shot at right near the start. Definately a case of Brave Brave Sir Robin, Bravely running away!
edit: I should point out that I love the idea and scope of the game, and when I saw it at a friends house it looked amazing. |

I really enjoy in old platformers(ia. because there are none new), I can play old FPSs like Doom, old RTSs & old tycoons are very good(Transport Tycoon, Theme Hospital, Rival Realms, Warcraft).
I could NEVER play old RPGs, they're just awful. I tried Arena, because I'm great fan of Morrowind & Oblivion, but couldn't last more than 3 minutes. I'm pretty sure that I would love Arena if I have played it when it was released, because world of Tamriel placed me under its spell, but now, no way Hose! I don't play the newest games because they have no soul(there are exceptions but they are very rare). |
