I am getting this annoying message when running DOS programs. When you click "Ignore" the programs still work fine, however I would like to get rid of the error message.

I found the issue in Microsoft Support Database.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...;EN-US;q254914&

I did what it said:

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
2. Locate and click the following value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\VirtualDeviceDrivers\VDD
3. On the Edit menu, click Delete.
4. On the Edit menu, click Add Value.
5. Type VDD in the Value Name box, click REG_MULTI_SZ for the Data Type, and then click OK.
6. The Multi-String editor appears. Leave this entry blank and click OK.
7. Quit Registry Editor.

However, it did not work. Im running XP BTW. Any ideas?

Okay, here is how my registry looks. Just to make sure that I followed the directions correctly as I found them a bit confusing. Please help!

If the above steps do not work, or if you are unable to create the VDD key, it may be necessary to also delete and recreate the whole VirtualDeviceDrivers registry key.

When I first looked in the registry there was no VirtualDeviceDrivers key. I had to make one myself. However, just to be sure I deleted it and recreated it and it still displays the error.

In the screenshot you posted, the VirtualDeviceDrivers registry key is not in the correct location. It should be under the Control key, according to the info you posted from MS.
