Default Opinions on fan-made Space Quest game

Hardcore Gaming 101 is doing an article about the Space Quest series. Well, actually the owner of the site, Kurt, is the one doing it. However, since there was a little broken promises that I'd do the article, Kurt let me write the stuff on two fan-made games, the Lost Chapter and Replicated. This is quite cool, as I love the site and I always wanted to contribute.

Anyway, I'd like to know some general opinions on these two games? Personally, I liked Replicated but Lost Chapter was kind of grubby. Not to mention its over-rated.

Also, any useful info and things worth mentioning are welcome.

TC, I pretty much agree with what you said about the Lost Chapter and Replicated.

There was a project which had the involvement of Josh Madel running to make Space Quest 7, but I think it's died the same death that a lot of fan made games do, which is a shame because it looked pretty good.

I do believe there is an ongoing Space Quest 2 VGA project over at Infamous Adventures...

well worth a look, they also have an absolutely fantastic King's Quest 3 remake, so I cant wait for their SQ2.

Awesome, I reckon the Quest For Infamy guys would be perfect for SQAnything.

When it comes to Sierra series, Space Quest is definitely my favorite one. That said, Leisure Suit Larry comes very very close. Space Quest III is my personal favorite because, despite the basic graphics, the atmosphere was spot on. Space Quest IV was great too but suffered from speed issues and it did blemish an otherwise fun game.

I have to admit I never played the fan-made games. I still got dozens of adventure games to complete and the fan-made ones are put at the back of the queue. I'm ashamed to say there's quite a few classics I never completed because I put them off for the right moment.
