I love populism. It makes a beautiful mess out of things. <_<

When the voters voted the way they should, yes.
But I'm not that inclined to think of democracy as a good system. It's terribly unwieldy and doesn't really work at all. Only for smaller countries can it ever function even in the smallest sense.
It does, however, hold a malevolent despotism at bay, as that it prevents anarchism.
And what exactly would you suggest as an alternative to democracy?

Ideally it would be a benevolent despotism.

as power corrupts it would have to be some kind of sentiant supercomputer.
but then i think that would be a major bad thing. personally i like the idea of anarchy.

I agree with that.

A view shared by many who don't truly grasp the full extent of a country ruled by anarchy.

True, only problem is that they don't exist.

Indeed, and that's why I can live with democracy, as long as it doesn't become all TOO much the people's affair.

anarchists are needed to keep this thing in blance, and they have helped with social reforms. i have lived for small periods in anarchic communes which was kinda fun. i like the *idea* of it. however im aware you couldent run a world econmy with it. a benovelent dictator is also a nice *idea* but it will never work. not unless you get a massive upwards swing in human evolotion

Yes, that's true and to anyone who thinks that anarchy is a good idea, just take a look at Afghanstan at the moment. It's being destroyed by a civil war due to the lack of order whatsoever.

Benevolent dictators are few and far between, but it would do us a favour if there was one.

Arguably that's what has happened in Cuba and although the people are poor they are well fed and adaquetely housed. Their medical care is the best in the world too and it's also free.
