I downloaded "moonstone: a hard days knight" and I am at a loss on how to RUN the game.....

Am I missing something here?

You Need To download Dos-box and read This Guide .Most games require dos-box k:

I would have guessed that but it says it's compatible with XP, and it doesn't show a dos-box icon.....

1.what dosbox icon?
2.he meant, if it doesnt work for you in windows, do it in dosbox
and how it actually "doesnt work"? what did you try doing and what happened. how are we supposed to know?

He means these icons I reckon:

The review does show an XP icon, but it also shows a DOSBox one. If it doesn't work for you in XP (every machine is different anyway) try DOSBox. Many DOS games work in XP but without sound (and maybe with a slowdown utility), so if you don't want to use DOSBox try running the configuration program and selecting no sound so that the game doesn't crash when not finding an old sound card. But DOSBox is the painless option in the end once you try it.
