I've been playing "I have no mouth and I must scream" and it's even darker than Sanitarium in my opinion. Geez the setting for the game is really scary.
Hmmm...I would say depresing than scary. But yes it is a very"strong" game k:

Hehe, it's nice. I don't like the interface though feels clumsy, but I'll get use to it. I've played Gabriel Knight 3 and I liked it a lot.

Actually, I never played that game, although I always wanted to try it. The title alone gave me the creeps... I mean, just think about it!

I've played The Longest Journey too. It's fantastic, and it has a very adult story, not as in content, but in understanding and maturity.

The Longest Journey is a great game, but the puzzles were a bit on the simple side (Except for a stupid puzzle in the beginning). It felt more like an interactive book, but a good one

I've been wanting to try Innocent until caught, but I've read on this forum that there is a bug that prevents one from getting past a certain point. can anyone confirm this?

My favorite part is when you played hopscotch with the evil alchemist, it's subtle humor like that that allows it to be so enjoyable.

Zork: The Grand Inquisitor: A DVD was released last year with excellent digital quality sound and music, and high-resolution graphics and movies.

Latest 3rd-Person Adventure: The Moment of Silence - Excellent game on DVD.

Dark, but not Darker than Sanitarium: Midnight Nowhere

And now, for your information, I own 1650 adventure/role-playing CDROM titles in my library and still looking for over 40 titles that are kind of hard to find. Here is the List.

EDIT:

Sorry the List link is removed by myself due to some technical reason.
