The problem is not with HOW MANY members join, the problem is th QUALITY of them. 80% of the new member either just join to ask a question and leave after the answer, or just come here to have fun annoying us.

we have roughly over 1800 members that never posted so when i look at that post count i say to myself meh its really not that big i assure i dont ignore your posts i look forward to reading them

Thet's nice S.E.E., I just misunderstood the reactions(or the lack thereof) of other to my posts. I though you are just ignoring me, but it seems I just written things nobody wanted to add something or correct me in that case.

Somehow we have to stop the joining of non-posting members. For ex, set a time from the joining, say 48 hours, during that the newbies cannot post. This will discourage one-shot posters and n00bs.
