Hi Unregistered guest, did you work the magic spell on the
rune to transfer it to the stone? you click on the item
you want to work magic on, got to the i think it is a red feather
icon at the bottom left, red something, anyway, click on that
and it is the "work magic on" button, you get a list and you select
whcih spell to work on the item selected, and it will work the magic
for you. once it is on the stone, you click on the steering wheel
BEHIND and above the steering stone, and that is what gets you
on your way, it is hard because the inside of the ship is so dark.

i had to lighten my monitor all the way to see anything in the
ship..

enjoy

k: k:
You "learn" spells at verious points in the game by
lisstening and talking to verious people, I think you should
learn the "rune transfer" spell by getting to the right place in a
conversation with that guy in the room int he first place, i
forget his name, Yar, or Zar or something, anyway, once
you finish talking to him, you have "learned" the rune
transfer spell, and it will appear on the list of magic spell options
and you can select it, you need the rune transfer spell to
get the various runes onto the steering stone to go to those places,
realms they are called

thanks very much...but I didn't have any luck; I tried pretty much every pixel in a large radius all around and of course on the stone and steering wheel... and after a good period of inane click and having nothing happen, I gave up T.T Oh well; I'm probably loading the wrong mouse or something stupid like that; whatever. Thanks for taking the time to try and help me out.

I don't know whether I'm helping or confusing the issue here, but here goes.

Are you trying to run the game in DOSBox? If so what do you have in Config under Autoexec? It sounds as if it is still recognizing D as your cd rom. I'm very new to all this & had trouble getting it to work so hope this might just help:-

I installed the game to a new folder on my hard drive C:\games3\DGATE (just to keep it separate from others)

Then I changed Autoexec to read

mount c c:\DOS\CDRIVE
mount d: c:\games3
c:
cls

To start the game, I open DOSBox & get C prompt, then type D: (Enter), then type DGATE (Enter), then type DGATE again

Your problem wasn't the same as mine but hope this helps

Jo

OK - let's go through this once again (step by step).

Download the game (from our site).
Unzip the game (you should get a folder named DGATE). - DON'T INSTALL!!!
Move the DGATE folder (so it is only C:\DGATE).
Download DOSBox.
Install DOSBox (don't change any configuration).
Start DOSBox.

Type:
mount d c:\ <press enter>
mount d X:\ -t cdrom <press enter> (X should be the letter of your CD-ROM drive)
c: <press enter>
cd dgate <press enter>
dgate <press enter>

The game should be running now!
