Thumbs down Strike Commander - Buggy missiles?

I've been replaying the CD version of Strike Commander lately, and can't help but notice air-to-air missiles are practically useless (the AIM-9J, above all). The target reacts instantly, and with 5-10 flares. Even the AIM-120 turns out to be mediocre.

I don't remember missiles sucking so bad last time I played (didn't get too far last time, though). Is it a DOSBox (0.73) quirk? Some bug? Copy-protection? Or are missiles really supposed to be this worthless?

They aren't supposed to be that "dumb". Check out this other thread: http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/sho...?t=3688&page=4
