Default I challenge anyone to beat my score on Covert Action

The manual says that over 1000 isn't possible...

But here it is:

You have to play it on hard. Else yr a wet blanket.

Kids these days with Python... Learn yourself some C dammit.

This is how it goes:

Quote:
90+70+70+80+70+60+200+50+50+100 = 840

45+35+35+40+35+30+200+50+50+100 = 620
840 was my total score and 620 the score the game would have considered 100 per cent for that case. The additional points were scored by turning all agents instead of only arresting them--that doubles their points. Otherwise I didn't miss anything, not even the mastermind (you can't turn a mastermind, just arrest him).

(Not sure how the efficiency rating is calculated, because 840/620=1.355, possibly it's affected by some difficulty level modifier?)

It was your average plus quam perfect case. As far as the investigation goes, it's actually a mechanical procedure. Bad luck can make the timing impossible in some cases, but the rest of the times it's a matter of knowing how to investigate, and once you've discovered all the tricks it's always the same.

If you apologize, I might tell you how to nab the masterminds. Since I already said in the game thread how to give yourself time to investigate everyone before the crime is committed or aborted, and how to turn agents...

That's some good sleuthin' Japo - nice work on the number crunching..!

Confiscated means that you got the bit back. It could be a gun or a bomb or a pilot...

How the hell did you get the luck to turn ALL of them?!
You know, if you arrest them afterward, then you get double points... Just got to leave the Mastermind til last and hope they don't scarper.

OK I will, but it will have to wait for some things to be done first... You can check if you know something I forgot, because it's been a while since I last played--I think I'll replay it a bit.

The initial trails are usually enough to get you started. Sometimes you get bad luck and by the time you get more clues the organizers are in hiding and you're short of time. So you have to go though with it and wait for the next mission to get a good score. But when you're not unlucky time is usually enough if you don't screw up and know what you're doing. Once you get wise to the plot you can buy yourself as much time as you want.

About turning agents, in every case it's a matter of probability that you'll be able to turn some of them. Having the opportunity to turn all of them is a lucky occurrence, but not a rare one actually. If you're playing a full career, and you know all the tricks and don't screw over, you should get the opportunity to get that perfect score more than once.

Sorry no time to write more today, but I'll write that guide.

This is what you get with the maximum score. A rather irregular lot might I say...
