Well, you are breaking the copyright. Which is illegal.

What I meant by "most cases", is that if the mp3 is put there by somebody else than the right-holder. If I hold the copyright of a song (or whatever), and I put it on the web myself, it's legal. But if I buy the LOTR soundtrack, and put it on the net (and unfortunately, I don't hold the copyright for that LOL ), then it is illegal

mp3 is a type of compression, like wma, or ogg.

I don't like sharing files. Its a waste of time and bandwidth. I only dl from kazaa. Even then I am to lazy to anyway. Still RAA can't do much in Canada (from what i heard)

Commercial MP3's are illegal there are many free mp3's from underground artists and other orginizations...

I cannot buy it on the street because my sheeting country is sucking up to european union so we can be in europe in 2065(random number).
So piracy is very punishable by law, and there are no dealers on the street.
