Hi there. I've been dinking around in Photoshop making a logo for an upcoming play. The director (who happens to be Reamus' mom k: ) asked me if I wanted to give it a shot and make something up, and now I have an idea of what the words will look like, but I'm a little stuck on anything else.
I was hoping you guys have any ideas, because I keep trying to add something and end up ... and then deleting it. The play is "Clue," like the board game. From what I've heard, the play is a lot like the movie if you've seen it (good movie, too). She wants it to be more in the old board game Clue style, the 1st game came out in 1949 and looked like this... mint green with red letters. What I have so far is this: The part in the middle with the "Great Detective Play!" will either be like that or just say "The Play" I'm fine on the words, but I don't know what kind of artwork (if any) to add without making it too cramped. It also has to fit some dates on there. Any ideas or suggestions/criticisms are welcome Thanks! |

Ohhh, good goody!!
Sounds interesting..nice job too!!! Just an idea, Maye instead of th black bar, you could have a bar with the pics of the weapons in it, you know, the dagger, cadlestick, pistol... And maybe instead of play you could try story... I dunno, nice job tho!! k: |

And the title is Clue: The Play, so I don't think story will work |

Looks good, Ally.
Instead of putting weapons on the black line perhaps you could make scrollsort of thing (like on the box) and have the weapons in that. Just a suggestion. |

Why has no one mentioned a magnifying glass? Or a tape outline for a crime scene (where the body is found)
The design is okay, and I know she wants you to use the old board game style, but why not update the look a little? Using a grunge or splatter brush on the black line in the same mint green color would give some interest, while still keeping the basic design intact - and if you do it right, it'll look sort of like a suggestion of blood spatter (without the blood).... while still keeping the color count low (since this is being designed for print). Of course, it looks nice as it is, and a clean, simple look is good, too. |

What I think this design needs some sort of image, or a logo or something, it's a bit unattractive right now. You've got the text, a graphic line but there is one part missing. The magnifying glass idea sounds good for example, or maybe a inky thumbprint.
well, this ain't quite it either, but maybe it gives you some inspiration anyway

I think you should use Tai's idea with a magnifying glass, and place it over the fingerprint. Place both objects under the word "CLUE" and let the fingerprint be magnified within the magnifying glass.
Also, I think yous should dig up a nice old-school border to place around the edges. This is just something I dug up in 3 minutes, I am sure you'll be able to find something more fitting

Going off on Tai's idea. Maybe instead oof having the body tape in she shape if a body, it could be in one of thoose things...what you call it, where you click the top part for scene one!! And stuff like that...
