Salut all. With the recent trend of sharing our artistic and musical abilities, I would like to share a piece I composed with all of you wonderful people. The only problem is, I wrote it with Finale 2003, and there is no option to save it as an mp3 or wav. I can save it as a midi, but then all of the tracks sound like piano. But for somereason, when my brother saves his stuff as a midi it keeps the same sound. Could someone either tell me what I have to do to save it as a midi but keep the sounds the same? Or some kind person with Finale 2004 or higher, allow me to send them my piece, and they save it as an audio file and send it back to me? Thank you.

But it is possible
Good luck!

Fianle 2004 has the option to save files in .wav files. So i suggest you to download a trial version paste you work there and then save it as a wav or mp3 k:

tried that...because it's a demo, it doesn't let you save files.

Edit: Solved it...sweet!

Alright, so now I've got it all sounding NOT like piano (still not the best quality instrument sound, but it's midi, it can only handle so much.) But it isn't recognizing a tempo change, so it just keeps plowing through the slow section at 160 bpm. Does someone have a sequencer (or recommend a free one) I can use to implement the tempo changes?

Let me see...there are freeware sequencers out there. download.com might be one place to look. But if you want to really get into composing music on computer, then Cakewalk or its latest incarnation, Sonar, are the ones to shoot for.

I tried a google search using: freeware sequencers and this brought up a lot of options.

oh, for composing music I'm gold, because I just use Finale (and I'm really good with it.) It's just that when it turns into Midi, it doesn't make the tempo changes, so I have to make those in a sequencer

When I said 'composing' I meant everything needed to get music to the final stage of production. Cakewalk and Sonar are sequencers as well as music studios. Finale sounds a bit limited. But everyone has different roads to the same destination, I suppose. Any luck finding the right freeware sequencer?
