Are you talking about the predeccor for Leisure Suit Larry? Softporn Adventure?
That would be correct.

Text adventures are nice, but how about a text RPG? I have an old game called Zyll dated 1984, released by IBM for the original PC. I had no way of even running it until recently because it's on a 5.25" 360K floppy disk, but I've got a drive now. It plays a neat little tune through the PC speaker when you start it (though it doesn't seem to play properly in XP), and then asks which type of game you want to play. This is as far as I can get as I can't seem to get it to accept any input. I may try it out in DOSbox later.
I've heard of it.....if you want make a review of Zyll, I'll sign your name in the list.

And about Softporn adventure.....if the contents don't offend anyone, I'll put it in the list.

Void, I've got Zork I installed and have started playing it, so I can do a review, etc, for that one.

I was looking around today and came across a program called WinFrotz which allows you to run Infocom text adventures natively in Windows. You can find it here: http://www.cris.com/%7ETwist/WinFrotz/

I have a game called "Arthur the Quest for Excalibur". It's a decent game not too bad, you can even look up hints through a crystal as you play.
But it comes with some graphics, so if you're looking for text based games without graphics then I don't know why I bothered mentioning this.

I also have another game called "Gnome Ranger". But I didn't like that game one bit. Everytime a word starting with n comes up, like north, it would spell it with a g in the front, such as gnorth, this got very very annoying after a while so I stopped playing it. It also comes with some graphics.

Unhappy

I'm sorry about long absence, due mainly to my provider that is really making me mad.....

@Guybrush: I've also heard of that program, and make sure it'll be available when the text section comes.

@Wendy: A review from such an expert would be gratefully appreciated!

@Iron Scarecrow: As said here:

I'll consider in this section games that require entire control from keyboard through typing, and NO graphics except some border-line games like the ones made by Magnetic Scrolls which features only seldom pictures representing some places-without interacting with them.
Text Games can feature graphics, until you can't interact with them - in case you can, games slide in the Graphic Adventure genre.

Well after going back and playing the games again I'm pretty sure they fall into this category. You do everything by typing and a basic picture comes up of where you are. You can't do anything with the pictures they're just there for show.

So....will you send me, review and take some screenshots of the games? At least the first, seeing you don't really like the second....and we want games people will enjoy playing, don't we?

Thumbs down

Ok, I put this as a challenge. I believe it possible to make the Text section enter in Abandonia's ranks by the autumnal equinox, 23 September. Of course it'll be punctually updated, but I think of good omen to make it rise under the goodwill of the stars. :P

I'm expecting your works!
