Menwar it is very good also, and is songs like that with began with a sentec like: "grandfather tell me a story", who remember this song. LOL

I do not particularly like Metallica. They are just like any other band. Yeah, they might be the first, but their style can be imitated. You can't imitate Floyd or Zepplin or Van Halen (They might not be metal but the metaphor applies)

Maiden is a killer band course the old stuff is good, but the new stuff brave new world and dance of death are definitely on tops imo, they really are still one of the best metal acts out there.

Old School Metallica definitely is not the same as other bands, they were definitely distinct with their songs and yeah you can imitiate them, but consider that somewhat of an honor to do that, and yeah those examples you listed aren't metal obviously, :P going to need to prove to people metal acts dude if you think you can say metallica is the same as other bands. :angel: I'm talking old school metallica, new school doesn't count. :bleh:

If you like Overkill and old Metallica you'll like Testament
I saw Dream Theater 3 times last year.
I like all types of metal except crap that makes it to the radio/tv and death metal (other than Cynic)

Okay - I'm new here, so at first i want to say hello !
If u're really keen on black or death metal, u should check out some of the Polish stuff. Yes I am Pol... Whatever. I can recommend u especially Vader, Behemoth and Hate - I know that those bands are pretty well-known all over the world, so I think it's worth listening. Also if u like some melodic death - check UNQUADIUM - those r my friends so I'm not supposed to be very critical :whistle: If u like it, it will be good if not ... u will share my thought Here u can download some of thier work http://unquadium.metal.pl . I hope u'll like Pols at metal !

WaAn - I told u have to be black/death metal fan; for example I don't like metallica and Iron Maiden(A LOT :bye, but it doesn't mean they're not good... I recently reached Burzum - a Norwey band - it's somthing I'll listen next months, I believe...
