Oh come on guys haven't you ever wondered how they made old games? How much work went into building a gem?
And i think the whole thing is super-safe as long as we stick to developers wich released their games as freeware.
Anyway i think this idea is big, and could give us the edge to beat HotU.
Anyway i released the idea, i can't do anything more. The decision is up to Kosta.

But i have a question: how did they make those old gems? QBasic, Turbo Pascal? I'm verry curious

Qbasic would be to basic to make old gems. Although that scorch type game with the gorillas throwing bananas was a gem. But that had relly bad graphics, I don't think QBasic would have been used for many games. We used QBasic in year 10 for basic programming they wouldn't use it for many games.

There is a section in a British games magasine PCZone called "Games that changed the world" in this section they interview the makers of a specific game about making it, this month it was magic carpet but there have been Sensible Soccer, Cannon Fodder, Fallout and many other old games.

This whole thing about abandonware and roms and it being illegal and all that is just proof about how petty some people can be. ID software still thinks they can sell old games like doom and Wolf3D for money? How stupid do they think people are? It's about time that the world laws and all are changed so that any game over 10-15 years old is automaticly classed as abandonware. That'll show those petty crybabys a thing or two.

Well, I think they're right. Put yourself in their place. You created a game which cost you months of work, and now see ppl exchanging it, pretending to hold its rights only because it's old. It's like you write a book, and after 10 years see people photcopying it around. Not that nice. So if they want to keep selling it, they are right. If they decide to release them for free, well, then it's better :Brain:

I agree.

The games are their property after all.

I think that only people that have publicly declared there game as freeware should be interviewed...

All others may want their games to be removed..

Well for me it isn't really a big deal. I wouldn't take much notice of it.
