ok, for that hard disk drive, you will need more than just mount c:
Create a folder, and take note of that folder's path. Type: mount c c:\[path to folder] From what I read you never mounted a hard disk drive. This should fix that. NOTE: the second c will of course have to be change to match your hard disk drive letter.

Yes. You must not getting the mounted hdd and the mounted cd-rom mixed up. You need both so you need to mount both.
What exactly happens? What are the _exact_ messages you get in DOSBox? Give THE Ultimate Exact Description of what happens.

Ok, so far so good (it seems). Now, give an exact description of what you do next, any messages you get and any result in general (can't find cd, black screen etc etc)

Ok, have you typed d: (to change to the cd drive)? If not, do it and type dir/p (this will give you a list of all files and folders on the cd (/p means one screen at a time, good if there are a LOT of files and folders).
You can also add file extentions to that "dir", most relevant will be dir.com dir.bat dir.exe Please post any com, bat and exe files DOSBox find on your cd.

Ok, here's a test for that cd-rom drive you mounted:
In Windows, explore the cd and see if the files are the same there as in DOSBox. Reason: It looks like the problem is the mounted cd-rom drive, and if the files you get in DOSBox are different from the ones you get in Windows, then DOSBox isn't reading the cd. Now we're actually getting somewhere EDIT: Is it a real, physical cd you have, or a cd image file (like an ISO)?
