Ok thought id tease your brains a minute im sure this is a Dos game but as the title of the topic suggests i just cant remeber its name!

I can think of an old old game simmilar, but im sure the game i want is more 1995 ish not like Combat on the old atari in 1977! But the game style is the exact same!

Its a top down action, where you can play either LAN or split screen (i cant remember) on some simple maps where you pick either tanks or helicopters and use differnt arsenal to take each other out! It provided hours of entertainment for me and my brother! Would love to see it again! any clues?

Yeah return fire is the same sort of game, but the game im thnking about had different graphics (simmilar to seak and destroy) the view was more top down as well less angle there was also (i think) a sort of radar at the top left... im so useless tho really cant remeber much more!

Grrr :ranting:

No one have a clue......???

Ok ok i'll try a little more of my memory pretty sure it was the same sort of era as Seek and Destroy aka same sort of graphics! you drove fast tanks, slow tanks, helicopters..etc

They all had different weapons and strengths...etc i Only played the two player in the game dont know if it had a single player option...? and cant remeber if it was just split screen or lan!!!!!!!!

With the top down view (not isometric... whatever) as two player you started from two sperated bases and its basicly find each other kill each other! One of the weapons used was a nuke, you planeted in the ground!

Controls for the tank where great becuse you could revolve the turrets with differnt keys to driving... eg so you could shoot backwards or sideways whilst driving forward!

Overall a really good game to play against your brother! Esp when you kick his behind!

Ok, I think I got it. This one bothered me because I was sure I had played it as well.
But here it is: Fire Power (1988)
FirePower Screenshots
Sorry for such a delayed response, it just took a little investigating and lull in Finals to figure it out.
I hope this is what you were looking for

Nice looking game you see, you know it. Thats the style but its more modern than that was defintly the same graphics age/style as Seek and Destroy. I think it was split screen like that though if memory serves me correctly! There must be a lot of games based on this style of play, im just hoping what im thinking of isnt shareware because then i might never find it!
