Default GT Racing 97 "NO CD" problem

Hi! I am also having problems trying to run this game through DOSBox. I have tried to install it to my hard drive off the CD, mounted the partition and accessed it from there, but then it's asking me about the CD, which already is in the disk tray (and of course not inside the HDD).

Then, I tried to mount the CD drive and run the game off the CD, but it doesn't allow me to do it and I get this message in DOS:

Dos Protected Mode Extended Ver 2.0
(C)BLUE SPHERE 1994,1996
TREVOAN Cyril

System XMS

How do I solve this? The game is original. Thanks in advance.

As you have the CD:
mount CD as D: in dosbox
mount a folder as virtual C:
Install game from D: on C: within dosbox.

If you have the original install media for something you want to run in DOSBox, then you should also install it in DOSBox. Quite a few games stored the information about the path they have been installed to. If that doesn't match, problems ahoy!

Works fine here, no cracking needed.

Fully seconded, works fine in dosbox 0.74.
No problems whatsoever.

Hmmm. I've mounted ISO's and IMG files hundreds of times in both Windows and Mac DOSBox versions. But dammit, this one is not working! LOL.

Would you kindly copy/paste your mount command?

Using MAC OSX Dosbox 0.74:

imgmount d /users/Le_Presidente/Library/MSDOSHD/CD/GT97.img -t iso

I've tried this mostly and never works.

You must always 'imgmount' pointing to the cue file.

And even if '-t iso' still works, in 0.74 it's '-t cdrom' , also for images.

[Edit]
Is listed in ISO cellar as BIN/CUE.

Hi! I've converted the Clone CD IMG file to BIN/CUE using Alcohol 120%. I have mounted this BIN/CUE in Mac DOSBox and Windows 7 and still same error. The one from your ISO Cellar is different indeed! =(
The copy I am using was found on a ratio share site. I cannot divulge the name of the site, out of respect for rules of membership there.
I have made an error, I asked about GT RACING 97, not realizing this thread refers to the Abandonia copy.

Apologies., and thanks very much for your time, fellows.
