DOSBox comes with a configfile

in that one you can keep the settings.

Also, remember that the lines starting with # are ignored - you can use that to store several different settings in a single config file. Comes in handy every now and then.

Make a shortcut to dosbox and add lines like -c "mount c c:/dosgames". Like this:

"D:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.61\dosbox.exe" -c "mount d d:\DOS" -c "d:" -c "cls"

This line gives automatically the commands:

mount d d:\dos (mounts d:\dos at d: drive as your games folder)
d: goes to d: drive (d:\dos)
cls (clears screen, looks like you are stepping to real dos and looks tidy)

Little need for that - the [Autoexec] is more convenient.

Also, you can create batch files with several chained commands outside of the [Autoexec]. This can come in quite handy at times, as you can use all the command prompt commands available for DosBox.
