I think camomille is right ... I am no expert in English flower names so I guess the second one is a thistle ? Or is thistle just a category and they all have their own names ???

(You're from Scotland ?! I have very cool pics from there, too. I think I'll search them to post one or two here later - then we play Name that location ... )

I think that the unopened buds above the flower you were aiming at take precedence.. If it was only the flower itself, It'd be ace!
