Hi,

I've got an LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B and a NEC1300 DVDRW drive.

I use the latest DOSBox-0.63 version which works well with my games. However I seem to have problems with my DVD drives.

Star Trek A Final Unity : Drive is recognized in DosBox, but when I try to install the
game, it states the drive is too slow, and the game cannot be
installed.
I've tried manually to install the game by unzipping the rar file,
no problem here, but upon starting the game, DVD drive is not
recognized.

can someone help me out ? is there a solution to this ?

thx.

quite often when installing dos games from cd i have had to get a crack for the game to get it working because of the cd copywrite being old school, and it not reconising new school drives.

Try getting a no-CD crack from www.megagames.com (sorry if links arn't aloud..didn't know for sure).

I loved that game..not for everyone..but being a big STTNG fan, I loved it. Actually bought that back when it first came out :P

Have you tried using DOSBox's support for real CD-ROM drives?

mount intro
mount -cd
then probably:
mount d (D):\ -t -cdrom -usecd (0) -atapi -ioctl
Where (D) is the actual drive letter of your DVD drive and (0) is the ID of the drive.
